OSSCamp Delhi Summer Edition
Hi Fellas
I write to update you guys on OSSCamp Delhi. he event will take place on 21st June at the Indian Social Institute. A lot of talks have been scheduled already, some include:
- Optimising MySQL databases by Mrs Sonali Minocha
- Open Source Game Development by Kinshuk Sunil (Yes!)
- Subversion 1.5: An Insight by Vishwajeet Singh
- intux by Ravi Sagar (Tentative)
- Introducing Python by Mir Nazim
- Python – Batteries Included by Mir Nazim
- Harry Potter and the Distro Horrors: Which Linux Distro is Best Suited for You by Pratul Kalia
- Open Source vs Free Software by Kinshuk Sunil (YEs, again!)
Yes guys, I plan to present two papers this time – though I haven’t made much progress on Open Source Game Developet talk. Only thing I can say is: (as the kitty puts it)
opensource.gamedev != gamedev(useoss);
In layman’s terms: Open Source Game Development is different from Game Development using Open Source Tools. I will post more on it later.
Also, I will talk of Open Source and Free Software. How they co-operate even when they are different. Unfortunately, I, myself, do not understand the topic completely. And this is one reason, I will speak on it. I shall learn in the process. Or, So I hope :) More of it later too.
And if you can, be there! OSSCamp is a fun place to be in.
Take care
Kinshuk
