Creative Commons Salon Delhi – Feb 28

CC Salons are global, informal events focused on building a community of artists, developers, and creators of all kinds around Creative Commons licenses, standards, and technology. The first event took place in San Francisco in 2006 with the idea to replicate in other locations internationally. Since then salons have sprung up in cities around Whether you’re familiar with Creative Commons or are brand new to the concepts behind it, we encourage you to check out a salon near you.

Come and be a part of Delhi’s First Creative Common Salon on February 28th at Sarai, CSDS. The event’s objective is to start the social collective of artists, developers and creators around the Creative Commons Licenses and standards.

Schedule

1.30 PM : Organiser’s Note + Introduction + Open House
2.00 PM : Playback of Wireside Chat with Lawrence Lessig
(Playback of 45 minutes chat given by Mr. Lessig on February 25th 2010 with an additional 30 minutes of Q&A session)
3.30 PM : Focussed Sessions on Software Freedom, Creative Commons and Licenses
5.00 PM : Open House + Networking Sessions
6.00 PM : Roadmap for future CC Salons Delhi.
6.30 PM : Concluding Note

Expected Participations

A lot of content creators and thought leaders such as artists and conceptualizers are expected to participate at Creative Commons Salon Delhi. Also, an important chunk of the audience will be developers and from the technical domain.

It was an event that attracted technologists and students, with Mozilla’s Seth Bindernagel and Arun Ranganathan around to discuss the future of the Web…

MozillaCamp Delhi is being organised on February 10th, 2009 at the Indian Social Institute, Lodi Road New Delhi.

MozillaCamp Delhi will see web developers, designers, media and students coming together to celebrate emerging web technologies, localisation, internationalisation, and standardisation of web the Mozilla way.

Highligts of the event are:

  • Discussion led by Seth Bindernagel, Director of Localisation (Mozilla)
  • Discussion led by Arun Ranganathan, Standards Evangelist (Mozilla)
  • A Talk by Mozilla Labs on Open-Web Development (through conferencing)
  • An open Hack session led by Mozilla Labs through Conferencing.
  • The event will also be live streamed on Mozilla AIR.

Registerations are beign made at the Barcamp wiki (link mentioned above) and if you use any Mozilla Toolie or are a Mozilla Loyalist, you wouldn’t want to miss the event. Over 80 regsiterations have been made. We know teh event is on tuesday but since Seth and Arun will be in Delhi only on Tuesday, so we cant be flexible about it.

Mohak has been doing a lot of hard work for organising the event. I have done my best to aide him. My company (OSSCube) has gladly sponsored us and is meetign all the expenses of the camp.

OSScamp Pantnagar scheduled for February 2009

OSScamps are organized on the lines of bar camps and serves as a dais for Tech professionals, geeks and geeks-to-be to discuss, debate, comment and share their knowledge through demos, presentations and interactions among the campers. It’s an endeavor to gather and collaborate on open source technologies and tools.

The OSScamp Pantnagar community, initiated at OSScamp Delhi September 2008, has announced their maiden unconferece at Pantnagar (Nainital) area. The unconference is scheduled for January 31st – February 1st 2009 in the scenic views of  GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, at the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Technology.
