Lyrical Debut

Been working on a musical album for about a month now – Indipop + Sufi (possibly). Its been a lot of hush hush as yet and is still going to be. Playing a marketing role, looking at how Social Media can be best utilised in the scenario, will soon talk about what and how we are doing stuff.

I am also looking at how best to go out with an indie album – yep, not planning to release the album through some big publishing house. The artist’s first album came out from the T Series stables but the experience was not that too rosy. Heck! Even the copyrights for the songs are with T Series, the artist can’t work with them on Last.FM or anywhere else.

Also, a first for me – I am writing the lyrics for some (at least) of the songs. Not that I can boast of my lyrical prowess, but if the artist finds it good enuogh to sing, I guess it is good enough to listen to. I’ll soon be sharing a couple of songs I have already written for the album – your feedback will be much appreciated.

Just recorded one scratch track for the album one fine day. This song will not see the light at the end of the tunnel though. Titled “Itna Bura” the song is very bad :D Just the end result of a weird rickshaw ride with Yadu Rajiv. And yes, the voice is mine. Please don’t flame me ;)

While, we are still talking music I will also like to draw your attention to some instrumentals made by me. Not so great, but an attempt by me – some are really nice and I like them. Find them on my Last.FM Artist Page. They all are available for free download as well. Feedbacks on them (comments and shouts on last.fm) are also welcome. I am also working on my second instrumental album “Into the Night“, the title track is already on Last.fm. Some other tracks have been delayed due to my system’s bad PSU issues. The first album was “In my dreams“. It is a compilation of extremely short instrumentals really. Nothing very inspiring.

The Beginning of the End

Every Beginning Has An End, Neo!

And similarly this series comes to an end. Not an exceptional series by any means but teh fact that this is the first series I am successfully completing. Taking cue from this, I shall now work harder at my long pending series.

There has, obviously, been literary mistakes in this text owing to my limited expertise at the English Language. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to poke a finger and feel around.

OSScamp Bengaluru was a wonderful experience. Managing an Event all alone is critical experience and has its own, both, pros and cons. While there were aspects of it I didn’t like at all, there were things that I really loved. Strangely, one of these was dining, with an artificial effort, because my body needed food while I cannot dine alone. Weird fellow, ain’t I?

Pictures from the trip can be found on my flickr account.

Day Three: Coming Home Now

on my flight back home:

And I’m coming home now
It’s been so long now
Gonna get there somehow
Praying you’ll be there

10:40 AM I am glad to be going home.
Here Comes the Sun; Here Comes the Sun,
And I’ll Say – It’s Alright!
11:03 AM I keep running into bad weather, or so it seems.
11:07 AM Its common to have Turbulence due to the current weather.
Current Height is 38000 Feet.
Just crossed Hyderabad. Scheduled to fly over Bhopal at 11:55 AM and over Delhi by 12:45 PM.
11:20 AM I wish they had bigger windows to enjoy the view.
11:22 AM I wish I could feel the wind on my face.
11:31 AM Bad Weather Again: Be Seated, Fasten Seat Belts, Don’t Use Lavatories. Great! Bleeding Great!
11:35 AM I am rocking my toes, my feet are numb.
I’ve become so numb, I can’t feel you there!
Become so tired, so much more aware
11:38 AM Through with bad weather and no visibility for once. Cloud Cover Lost. Land Ahoy!
11:50 AM Hey Bhopal! How you doin’ man?
11:52 AM Aaj main upar, aasman neeche
Aaj main aage, Jamana hai piche
I dunno why, but I am humming this song. And grinning shamelessly.
11:56 AM Ah! Be Damned You, Turbulence!
11:58 AM It’s kinda weird the way the craft wings shake in the wind. I hoped them to be hard and firm.
12:02 PM It’s like a vast ocean of clouds that I am flying over. Nature’s Call. BRB.
12:08 PM I have been a great discomfort to my seatmates with all the walking from and back to the seats. Wish they had more space between two subsequent rows. Sorry!.
12:19 PM I want to be a space tourist next.
12:27 PM Approaching Home. 20 Minutes to Terra Firma. Wait! Isn’t TERRA supposed to be FIRMA? Ain’t that implicit? I mean, do we have Terra Infirma? I wouldn’t want to be there.
12:28 PM Preps started. Changes in direction and altitude.
12:28 PM We will be landing shortly in Delhi.
Descending Now.
12:29 PM Mother Earth and Gravity playing their little games.
12:40 PM Touche!

What is a blog?

I have been making an attempt to trun people around me into bloggers. Have had a few successes, many failures. Given the state of affairs (read: my not bein a proper blogger, myself) I haven’t had much to say and lead people about.

One of the questions’ I have always been asked is: “What is a Blog?” and I have defined it thus:

  • It is a online diary, where you share your world, with the whole world.
  • It is an unrestricted publishing media through which you can take about your opinions.
  • It is a collective of knowledge and information on a specific subject, which you develop and continuously groom.

And the next question generally turns out to be: “What’s the deal?” And well, it gets more torturous. Lately, I have decided to have a better understanding of the subject myself, before trying to have converts.

And, weird though it may sound many people at my end of the globe don’t know much about blogging.

What made me rant about blogging? Copyblogger’s post: What is a Blog?
